Niels after difficult start to 2024 confident about heading to Paris!

Paralympics 2024

The first six months of 2024 will not go down in the books as Niels' best period ever. He was plagued by many injuries, which meant that he was much less in action on the tennis court than he would have liked - and had to work a lot on his recovery. That also has a bright side: there is no question of peaking too early for the 2024 Paralympics. Of peaking just in time, hopefully, is....

In any case, the omens are not wrong and Niels is approaching his top form. Perhaps he has even reached it already! After all, on July 15 he won on the hallowed turf of Wimbledon! In two sets in the final, he was too strong for his regular doubles partner Sam Schröder - with whom he won the doubles with the day before!

The very best
Niels spoke afterwards of his very best tournament win ever. That's not nothing, as he already has quite a few to his name. That statement has partly to do with all the setbacks Niels had to overcome, en route to Wimbledon and Paris. And then, of course, such a victory tastes extra sweet.

En route to Paris
The next stop is the city of lights (the French one, not Eindhoven). Next Saturday, Niels will leave for Paris. His goal is clear: gold, preferably twice. But then again, there are more top athletes coming for that. All support is welcome. Messages, likes, hearts, apps, emails, smoke signals and handwritten letters per pigeon: Niels reads them all. Will you support Niels on his way to a historic achievement? Thanks in advance and keep following him!
