Helmonder Niels Vink (19) also grabs power at US Open with wins in doubles and singles. That was the headline in the AD on Sept. 12. Sometimes you have to take things in the newspaper with a grain of salt, but I think this is pretty accurate.

After a night's sleep - fortunately I was not bothered by young girls in the hotel hallway - it was time for the singles finals on Sunday, September 11. On the other side of the grid was no stranger, namely my good friend Sam Schroeder. I know him a little and we usually admit little to each other.
